Safety & Visitor Guide

Motorsport is dangerous. Your safety is our priority.

Attending a live motorsport event is an incredible experience, but it comes with real risks. Please read these guidelines carefully before arriving at Automotodrom Grobnik. By entering the circuit, you accept these conditions.

Motorsport Is Dangerous

Motor racing is inherently dangerous. Cars travel at speeds exceeding 250 km/h and accidents can happen without warning. While extensive safety measures are in place, spectators attend at their own risk. Always follow instructions from marshals and event staff. Never enter restricted areas under any circumstances.

01

Understanding the Risks

Every spectator should understand what motorsport involves before entering the venue.

  • Vehicles on track reach speeds over 250 km/h. Incidents can occur at any time, without warning.
  • Debris, tyre fragments, and fluids can leave the track boundary despite safety barriers.
  • Noise levels can exceed 120 dB — hearing protection is strongly recommended, especially for children.
  • By entering the venue, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of attending a motorsport event.
  • Keep children supervised at all times, especially near spectator fencing and track boundaries.
02

Respect the Marshals & Staff

Track marshals and event personnel are volunteers and professionals who keep everyone safe. Treat them with respect.

  • Always follow instructions from marshals, stewards, and security personnel immediately and without question.
  • Never argue with or obstruct a marshal performing their duties — they are there for your safety.
  • Flag signals are critical safety communications. If you see yellow flags, an incident is nearby — stay alert.
  • If a marshal asks you to move, evacuate, or change position, do so immediately.
  • Marshals are volunteers giving their time. A thank-you goes a long way.
03

Spectator Areas & Access

Stay in designated areas at all times. Restricted zones exist for your protection.

  • Only watch from designated spectator areas, grandstands, and viewing zones marked on your event map.
  • Never climb fences, barriers, or debris nets. They are structural safety elements, not viewing platforms.
  • Do not enter the track, pit lane, service roads, or any area marked as restricted — even if it appears empty.
  • Paddock access requires a valid Paddock Pass. Do not attempt to enter without proper credentials.
  • If you are unsure whether you are in a permitted area, ask the nearest marshal or steward.
04

Respect the Facilities

Automotodrom Grobnik is a working race circuit. Please treat the venue with care.

  • Do not leave personal belongings unattended in pit buildings, garages, or common areas.
  • The pit building, race control, and technical areas are working spaces — do not touch equipment or vehicles.
  • Restroom facilities are provided throughout the venue. Please keep them clean for all visitors.
  • Camping or sleeping in vehicles is only permitted in designated areas. Check your ticket for details.
  • Report any damage, hazards, or suspicious items to event staff immediately.
05

Keep the Circuit Clean

Grobnik is surrounded by beautiful nature. Help us keep it that way.

  • Use the waste bins and recycling points provided throughout the venue. Do not litter.
  • Dispose of cigarette butts properly. Fire risk is high in dry conditions near fuel and vehicles.
  • Glass bottles are not permitted in spectator areas for safety reasons.
  • Take your belongings with you when you leave. The circuit is not responsible for lost items.
  • Respect the natural surroundings — Grobnik sits in the hills above the Adriatic. Leave no trace.
06

Emergencies & Medical

Know what to do if something goes wrong.

  • Medical teams and first aid stations are located at key points around the circuit. Locations are marked on the event map.
  • If you or someone nearby needs medical assistance, alert the nearest marshal or call the event emergency number on your wristband.
  • In case of evacuation, follow the green exit signs and instructions from marshals. Do not run.
  • Keep access routes and emergency lanes clear at all times — never block pathways with bags, chairs, or coolers.
  • Bring sun protection, water, and any personal medication you may need. May in Croatia can be warm.

By entering Automotodrom Grobnik during the Grand Prix of Croatia, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these safety guidelines and the event terms & conditions. The organizer reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any person who does not comply with these rules.
